Cookie Policy

This policy explains how QuickMenu uses cookies and similar technologies, what data they collect, and how you can control them.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) by websites and web applications you visit. They are widely used to make websites function efficiently and to provide reporting information.

In addition to traditional cookies, QuickMenu may also use similar technologies including:

  • Local Storage: A browser feature that allows websites to store data locally on your device, persisting beyond a single session.
  • Session Storage: Similar to local storage but cleared when your browser session ends.
  • Mobile App Storage: The QuickMenu app uses SharedPreferences (Android) and NSUserDefaults (iOS) to store preferences locally on your device.
QuickMenu uses a minimal set of storage technologies. We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies of any kind.

2. Cookies We Use

The table below lists all cookies and local storage keys used by QuickMenu, grouped by type:

3. Essential Cookies

Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function. Without these cookies, features like staying logged in to the owner dashboard would not work.

Essential Strictly Necessary Cannot be disabled

firebase_token — Stores your encrypted Firebase Authentication session to keep you logged in to the owner dashboard. This token is automatically refreshed while you're actively using the app. Clearing it will log you out.

Essential Device Identity Cannot be disabled

device_id — A randomly generated UUID (not linked to your personal identity) stored locally on the mobile app. It ensures staff push notification tokens are deduplicated when a device re-registers.

Disabling essential cookies by clearing browser or app storage will log you out of QuickMenu. No browsing or personal data is shared with third parties via essential cookies.

4. Preference Cookies

Preference cookies remember your settings to provide a personalized experience. They do not track you across other websites.

Preference Language & Theme Can be disabled

lang_pref — Stores your preferred language (Arabic or English) for the owner dashboard and customer-facing menu. If cleared, the app defaults to English on next launch.

Preference Notifications Can be disabled

push_notif_enabled — Stores your notification preference (on/off). Disabling notifications via the app toggle updates this value. No personal data is shared externally via this key.

To clear preference cookies: in a browser, clear site data for getquickmenu.com. On mobile, clear app data via device settings.

5. Analytics Cookies

QuickMenu uses Firebase Analytics (by Google) to understand how restaurant owners and customers interact with the platform. This helps us identify features to improve and bugs to fix.

Analytics Firebase Analytics Can opt out

_ga / _ga_* — Standard Google Analytics cookies that distinguish unique sessions in aggregate. All data collected is anonymized and does not personally identify you. No menu content, order data, or personal information is included.

What analytics collects

  • App version, platform (Android/iOS), and general device type
  • Country and language settings (not precise GPS location)
  • Which screens and features are used, and how often
  • App crash reports and performance metrics

What analytics does NOT collect

  • Your name, email address, or phone number
  • The content of your menu items, orders, or customer data
  • Payment information
  • Precise GPS location

Firebase Analytics data is processed by Google under their Firebase Privacy Policy.

6. How to Manage Cookies

Browser Settings

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here's how to do it in common browsers:

Important: Disabling essential cookies (Firebase Auth session) will prevent you from staying logged in to the QuickMenu owner dashboard. Preference and analytics cookies can be disabled without affecting core functionality.

Mobile App Storage

On Android and iOS, you can clear QuickMenu's local storage by:

  • Android: Settings → Apps → QuickMenu → Storage → Clear Data
  • iOS: Settings → General → iPhone Storage → QuickMenu → Offload App, then reinstall

Opting Out of Firebase Analytics

  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
  • iOS 14.5+: Deny tracking when prompted via App Tracking Transparency on first launch
  • By email: Contact getquickmenu@gmail.com to request deletion of your analytics data.
